Gift Ideas for New Moms and Babies!

Although COVID-19 is still here, life is still open with many important events likely happening in your life… events that require gifts or even pick-me-ups! Summer is also here so you might have a friend or loved one who is about to have a baby, or YOU may be expecting!  I am sure there are young children of your own or a friend’s who are celebrating birthdays, but maybe without the party.

Today I’ll share with you some of my top picks for items you can get online.  These items make wonderful gifts for the babies, kids and mommies in your life!

Gifts For Babies:

Every young baby needs a rattle and sensory teether.  Babies love these types of toys and they help stimulate early motor skills.  My twins loved this Manhattan Toy Winkel Rattle & Sensory Teether Toy!

In addition, books are wonderful- even for babies!  This Melissa & Doug Soft Activity Baby Book – Whose Feet? is great for small hands to touch (and teeth on). After a good washing, we passed this book on to my nephews!

If you’re looking for something that will entertain babies and tots for days, try something that has some movement to it like these Melissa & Doug Pull-Back Vehicles. Babies learn through play and these are great without being over-stimulating.

Gifts For Mommies:

I think a great baby-wearing carrier is essential.  Baby-wearing is wonderful when you’re out and about, or even just in the house trying to get some things done.  I like the BABYBJORN Baby Carrier Mini in Cotton or the Ergobaby Carrier, 360 All Carry Positions Baby Carrier.  Something I like to look for in a carrier is the ease in which it can be put on, and also making sure it keeps baby’s head and legs in a safe position.  Both of these fit the bill!

No mom can stay sane without a good diaper bag.  A “good” diaper bag has sturdy structure so it won’t tip over, is well stitched so it won’t come apart, and has ample pocket space for keeping things organized.  This Diaper Bag Backpack with Stroller Straps is wonderful because you can easily attach it to a stroller, as is the Skip Hop Diaper Bag Tote for Double Strollers with Matching Changing Pad.

To see all of my recommendations, as well as the recommendations of the Babies After 35 Community, head over to the curated Babies After 35 Amazon shop.  You’ll find great gift ideas, plus wellness items, items to help with fertility, and postpartum necessities.

Recently on the blog, we shared an article about What to Pack- The Hospital Bag Checklist.  Some of the items on that list can be found in the Amazon shop.

I hope this small list makes the overwhelming amount of choices on the market a bit less overwhelming for you.  During times like we are facing right now, if there is anything I can do to make your life a little easier, that is what I’m here for!
